15. Design Message
In this collection I am presenting clothes that attach themselves to national identities but illustrating how we can also change those identities if we want to.
15. Design Aim
I am taking clothes specifically associated with features of different national identities and mixing them up with other national identities. The Scottish tartans and tweeds worn in the English countryside with the black and white fabrics often used as bases for traditional costumes internationally.
My line is like a postcode lottery but on a bigger scale. The line is where we land at birth which is through no choice of our own. We can belong where we land or change where we belong.
