Fashion Collections guided by the logic of modular design.

The logic of modular design has always been there in my collections. My garments stand alone and also interconnect to shape into new combined garments.

My garments now piece together using heavy duty press stud tabs at the shoulders to secure wide cut necklines on to the shoulders. The ease fit of my designs enable individual pieces to shift into amalgamated changed looks.

For example two jackets and a top could snap fasten together shaping into one unique look. The jacket sleeves are long enough to roll from the under layer to the outer. If the under jacket were fastened closed, it would mimic a waistcoat and the outer jacket fronts could drape open.

One skirt worn over trousers also merges into one garment. The expandable elasticated waists roll to form one garment with the high slits on the skirt and the matching floor skimming lengths offering an aesthetic connectivity.

A scarf fed through the buckles of a top or dress creates a changeable shawl collar dress. A scarf fed through the press stud tab of a collarless jacket creates an updateable shawl collar jacket.

This modular design approach offers the flexibility to creatively alter looks so that the garment pieces evolve into personal combinations and exciting new aesthetics. On a practical level, this layering also controls comfort in varying temperatures.

Fashion Collections designed where East meets West.

I have sourced a fabric and come up with designs that can work in all seasons, climates, cultures and for all occasions. The fabric lightly floats from the body in hot weather or acts as an insulating layer in colder weather. My designs include ease and adjustability and allow the wearer to choose how much to cover up or expose.

All my garments are double layered and mostly made up with the outer fabric being used for the lining too, meaning all garments are virtually reversible. My garments use a lot of fabric not only because they are lined but also because the pattern pieces are large. The lightness of this fabric offers a perfect weight for this and my manufacturing processes.

My fabric supplier says this polyester has been a best selling fabric for decades for his local community for the Abaya and is a sought after fabric by a diverse range of cultures for cover ups. The fabric is light, dressy and suited to layering and special occasions. The fabric drapes beautifully and is comfortable all year round when covering up and layering.

My favourite for a base for layering is the black which has been dyed several times to achieve its rich density. The polyester mix tweed and tartans are lined with this black luxury polyester and the fabrics together create a comfortable lightweight combination for a suit.

My fabric choices have changed to maximise garment longevity and to ensure that clothes are easily reworn. I have found here easy care, easy pack fabrics that machine wash, dry quickly and don’t easily crease. The fabrics stay looking as new over time.
